Being around them is tiring, and you could start to question 

whether there aren't any dogs in the world who aren't as hyperactive.  

Even though it's important for dogs to get enough of exercise and mental stimulation,  

some low-energy breeds can get by with just a stroll around the block, some puzzle feeding, and plenty of cuddle time.

Amanda Farah, the National Training and Behavior Coordinator at Best Friends Animal Society, 

says that when adopting a dog, it's crucial to think about its activity levels. 

According to her, "choose a dog who has the best chance of fitting into their new family's lifestyle" because energy levels can vary not only between breeds but also during a dog's life.
